Polcari is best known as the keyboard player, composer and often producer for the band Almamegretta – legends of the Italian dub reggae scene and respected international collaborators-.
With Almamegretta he released 10 albums, mainly for BMG, toured Italy and Europe , worked in studio and on stage with artists such as Massive Attack, Leftfield, Bill Laswell, Adrian Sherwood, Zion Train, Gaudi amongst others.
As a solo artist he released one album, composed music for movies and produced records for major Italian labels. Together with Ashtech he also co-founded a dub project “Meditronica” currently signed with RareNoise Music.
His latest brainchild Funsui explores the deepest sides of Dub and new electronica. With this project Paolo Polcari ensures punchy, cutting-edge grooves not forgetting the beloved cinematic and trancey feel that always denoted his unique style.
